Red Rabbit Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Rica, my German Wire-Haired Pointer, and I hiked up to enjoy the fall colors. Yeah, I know it's opening weekend of quail season, but Rica can't read the calendar. I figure this weekend is the peak for the aspen colors, so oppotunity knocked. coueselk Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Those are some nice pictures. Makes me envious and wish my daughter would had drawn an early bull tag, so that we could enjoy those colors. Not too many of them down here in the desert.

Red Rabbit Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Shiras, I hiked into the inner basin of the San Francisco Peaks just north of Flagstaff. It's a volcano that blew out its side hundreds of years ago, much like Mount St. Helens did. RR

Red Rabbit Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Bowhunt Coues, Were you up in CO on a pack in archery elk hunt? The San Juans in late September are a beautiful sight. The inner basin is AZ's closest to the Rockies, but its candle dims much in comparison to CO. I keep thinking that a relocation to Durango or Montrose is needed. BowhuntCoues Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Red Rabbit, I took some buddies up to Colorado, just 45 miles east of Durango around the Piedra River. We had an awesome time, they had never been on a horseback hunt before and it was like taking 2 kids Christmas shopping. 1 buddy shot a nice 5x5 and he said that was the icing on the cake. Every time I go back there it makes me miss that country. Had a great time and your photos reminded me of that.
