couesobsession Report post Posted June 16, 2011 I've got a new recipe (rifle only) Weatherby Vanguard Sub-MOA 30-06 Federal 110 Grain Barnes TTSX Lead-Free Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40(some may say magnification is small but I've shot deer to 489 yards with that, and further than 550 I WILL NOT shoot. I know my limitations.) Winchester Prone Bipod I can shoot 3/4" groups @100 with that factory ammo. pretty good considering its leaving a 24" barrel @ 3400 FPS, eh? Every guy that i seen around the mountain they carry with them rifle, small backpack with water and food, Binos on their chest, i bet they don't have more then 20 LBS with them. Here is what I carry with me (for 1 day) Elberstock Gunslinger II Rifle .308 wich it's 18 lbs 15x56 swarovski Tripod Range finder Drywall knives with extra blades... call me crazy but it's the best knife for skinning I like them Rope GPS Batteries Wipes (i think most of us needs them) Bi-Pod 4 lt of water snacks snikers almonds (depends) 20 rounds of .308 jacket 1 pair of socks 1 extra shirt I don't know how much your pack weights but my pack always it's heavy. I will take a picture with what i have in it.
