DesertBull Report post Posted September 7, 2010 The BCS just shat a brick. They will have to share title game money with a non-BCS school if BSU runs the table. GOOD!
huntingfool Report post Posted September 7, 2010 Yeah helluva game. That's the 27th regular season win for them or some such. Every year they beat everybody and win their bowl game, and every year they're denied a shot at the title.
huntingfool Report post Posted September 7, 2010 I don't think there's a team out there that plays with more heart, and no coach that coach Petersen can't out-coach.

liv4coues Report post Posted September 7, 2010 Nice win for the Broncos, especially considering that was essentially a home game for Va. Tech.

Lark. I think they play Oregon st which was ranked 24 this week but lost to an unranked BYU team so they won't be in the top 25 anymore. OSU does look like they have potential and Locker was a pre-season Heisman talk. The OSU game is at home so that bodes well for them.Other than that, Boise doesn't look to have any tough games- they should win them all and run the score a little to get their ranking up- they are already 3 so it will be hard to go much higher. It was Washington that lost to BYU, not OSU. OSU should still hold their ranking up until the Boise State game. Boise State showed they have the athletes to play with the big boys. Plus, like someone else mentioned, they have a better coach than anybody else and beat VaTech in what was pretty much a road game for Boise. That VaTech QB is dang good too. The "experts" are saying that Boise is going to have to beat Oregon St and then win all the rest of their games by at least 30 if they want to have an argument for the title game. Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted September 7, 2010 Great game! They try to play the toughest teams they can right out of the chute but they have a hard time finding opponents because most schools want a warm-up game or two. They had to travel far for this one but they showed lots of heart. BOISE!!! STATE!!!
azslim Report post Posted September 7, 2010 Best game of the weekend. But I was also pulling for Navy - ties are like kissing your sister - they gave it a good shot.
rclouse79 Report post Posted September 7, 2010 I am University of Idaho Vandal alum, and according to my fellow classmates should cheer against BSU. I find myself rooting for them anyway. Anything that makes Idaho known for something other than potatoes is a good thing. The problem is it is impossible to compare BSU with 1 quality win to a school who has 1 loss against 5 quality teams. If BSU played 5 VT caliber teams I would not put money on them winning all 5. I am not saying they could not do it, but it gets less and less likely with each good team they play. Until college football pulls its head out of its butt and makes a playoff, BSU will probably never get their shot to play for a national championship. .270 Report post Posted September 7, 2010 boise has 3 open dates every year. every year they try to get the "big" schools to play em. the big schools won't take em up on it. last year was oregon's turn. they failed miserably. this year vt was the sacrificial lamb. and bs had to go there. and they won with 11 penalties, some of which were really cheap. and a couple turnovers. still stuck together and came back and won. against a really good, well coached team. they have organ state later, but no oklahoma or texas or usc or any sec school or ohio state or even notre dame. all they do is beat whoever they play. and folks keep sayin' they don't play enough tough teams. but when they play a big time school, they win. with players nobody else wanted. they are well coached and they are a TEAM, not a buncha guys trying to make a highlight film for themselves. petersen is a helluva coach and they have a helluva program. they are in a truly unique position. like really no other team i've ever seen. i hope they roll undefeated this year and make the bcs snobs eat crow. scoutm Report post Posted September 7, 2010 OSU lost there top 25 ranking with their loss to TCU. I don't know if in the BCS it matters what rank the team was at the time they played or if its the rank of the teams beat at the end of the year. With only Louisville on the OSU Schedule before the Boise game I doubt OSU will regain their top 25 ranking so that may hurt Boise in the BCS rankings. Not that it matters though because the Beavers are going to take care of business on that blue thing Boise calls a football field. GO BEAVS
