Atypical Report post Posted September 2, 2010 Congrats to everyone with posted bow kills, and to those that tried but came up short; but of course just getting outdoors and hunting anything is success in itself. I got a small one on a solo hunt, but it's my first with a bow so I'm psyched. Quartering towards me at around 9:00a, I shot him at 30 yards while sitting in a blind, it pierced both lungs and he sprinted non-stop and expired about 300 yards later. There are some other trail cam pics posted from earlier in the year with his bigger buddy and one hard-horned one from late April, plus a muley bachelor group of 4x4's. On opening day, I got a shot at the bigger coues buck, but he jumped the string and it sailed over his back - looks like he failed to train his buddy in this tactic. I'm glad the season and obsession is over so I can focus on other areas of life; well, I mean doves, elk, quail and predators.
