peckl1 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 Well not much of a story. I had to shoot at it 4 times to hit it. It was just before dark and the goat was headed up a hill. My hunting buddy Mike was with me. The first shot was from 300 yards. Mike said I shot way over his back. Next shot 325 still over his back. I didn't think the Winchester short mag would shoot that flat. Third shot just over his back at 375. Last shot I held it dead center, and the antelope fell in his tracks at 400 yards. Landowner tag from a ranch between Raton and Clayton. The head is at Weller's. They are doing a wall pedestal mount for me. That Bob Weller sure seems like a nice guy. He took us through the whole operation and explained how all of it is done. We met several of his workers. Pretty expensive but I like doing business with people who care.
