CouesBuckhunter Report post Posted August 27, 2010 I leave my cams out for a week. But it all depends how much pictures your camera is taking per trigger+the amount of game activity that triggers your cam+and the amount of space your memory card holds. for example, I had a salt spot up in the santa ritas and had 30-40 pics on a 1gb card so I checked it every 7 days. Then I had a cam on salt and water out in the foothills and had 300-400pics a week so I would check it every 4 days. It just all depends on what your situation is. Today's the Day Report post Posted September 1, 2010 I sometime leave mine out for 2 months. I've had 1,981 pics once. The camera I use takes lots of pics and the batteries last forever.
BASS Report post Posted September 1, 2010 When I was heavy into doing the cams I would leave them out for a week. Of course that was also 35mm cameras. I left a digital one with a 4 gig memory card and a solar charger out in the Florence area for over two months I think. Had well over 1k photos on it. Unfortunatly about 400 of them were of the rocks in the background from sticks moving in the wind. While looking at them if you held the arrow button you could watch the run rise and set on the rocks. My rule was to check them at least once a week if possible. That way if something/someone messed with them you would know right away and not come back a month later to find out it had been pointed at the dirt the entire time. bonecollector Report post Posted September 1, 2010 The last 2 times I checked my cams were 4 and 5 weeks apart. Both times the card was full just days before I checked it. You dont want to check it too often, you end of leaving your scent around the area imo.

Very true, but here in Az, if you set it up near a water hole, or a quarter mile of a water hole how many scents are there all year long?
