Border Patrol Contact Number?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I hunt a lot in the units south of I-10, and was just wondering what number i could call to reach border patrol in case something arises concerning it. Do they have an emergency contact number? Or will they connect you if you call 911? Thanks for any help, i was unsuccessful in finding anything on the web.

I picked these numbers up a couple of years ago before I hunted down south. I haven't used them in a while, so I'm not sure they're still good numbers. Good luck and be safe down there. We saw a lot of deer, but we also ran into some drug runners, which has kept us from going back. (520) 670-6871 or 1-800-232-5378

I have 520.761.2400. Like liv4coues, it's a couple years old. Might want to call ahead and get the right # for where you'll be. I think there are several "sectors". Last time I was down there though they had so many calls they couldn't keep up. Good luck on your hunt!

You can call 1-877-USBP-HELP. Yes it has one additonal digit than normal numbers, but that is the one for the public to call to the Sector dispatcher. 911 will connect you, but really, the 911 dispatchers have more important things to deal with.

Really, the best thing you can do is directly call the station that has the responsibility of that area. While the centralized Sector dispatcher will get the information, things get diluted and confusing when the central dispatcher relays to a station, who then relays to agents in the field.

If you want to let me know the general area you are hunting, I can tell you which station to call (Its not as simple as you would think). If you do end up calling the wrong station, the info will still get sent to the correct office, but again the info gets diluted.

thanks bradne, I hunt 30B, 34a, 34b, and 29 mostly. i guess that centralized number would be a good number to keep in my cellphone, so i could use it no matter where I am. i haven't had any issues personally while out hunting, but i figure it's not a bad idea to have an option, in case things go sour with some drug related business.

Wow,

You actually hunt in areas covered by five different offices. Your best bet would probably be the centralized number. FYI, GPS coordinates are the best thing. eg: "I last saw them 200 yards northwest of N---------, W ---------- twenty minutes ago"

Good luck
