Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted August 26, 2010 I always thought of cats as sight hunters but with the 15 minute delay and the fact that the cat is exactly on the elk's trail makes me wonder if they use their sense of smell more than I think. The lion seems a little small....is it the angle? I'm pretty sure that's a small lion, especially if you compare to the size of the elk that were standing in the same spot. I walked that trail for a long ways looking for any sign that the Lion got one of the elk but found nothing. I walked in to that camera just a couple hours after the pics were taken.
