azcouesfanatic Report post Posted August 25, 2010 Hello Everyone, Well in the past week it seems the prickly pears have really started to turn. I headed out last weekend in hopes of finding a solid black bear out working the pears. I hunted with my good friend for three days and we did not see anything. On the last evening we were heading out when my buddy stopped to look at a prickly pear covered hillside. He immediately noticed a black spot going from prickly pear to prickly pear. It was obvious it was a bear and it looked like a good one. Lucky for me my buddy had already shot a bear this year so I was up. After putting glass on the bear we realized he was a great bear with a solid black hide. I got the gun set up and after one shot from my 300wsm the bear was down.
