Quiet AND Waterproof camo

Looking for a camo jacket that is BOTH QUIET AND WATERPROOF.

Any ideas?

It has some insulation which isnt bad.

 

It does have to pass "bowhunting quietness" tests and not rip

on every catclaw or manzanita you walk past.

Oh and not cost $300 LOL

Any input would be nice

Tell me stuff to stay away from as well that

said was waterproof and quiet but was not!!!

I have some rain suede stuff. I really like it on warmer rainy bow hunts. It breathes well and is really quiet. My sister wore it on a 14 day colorado back country hiking trip. THey never were below 10k I think. Any ways she was the only one who's rain gear held up and kept her dry. I havent looked at what they have now, my stuff is probably 5 years old but still looks new. Even after Ive used the heck outa it.

I had to Google Rain Suede and found it on Cabelas site; As usual for Cabelas it gets good reviews.

Not to be snarky, BUT:

 

1) If it is actually raining there is going to be noise coming off the drops impacting everything,

 

2) The only time you are going to 'need' a jacket in AZ is in December/January, AND be above 5000 feet,

 

3) Stalking a buck is a lot different than just hunting - you are going to be giddy'd up into all your stocking feet, face mask, etc - and are probably going to take that jacket off anyway to free up your movement.

 

4) If it isn't actually raining at that moment, you can just carry a $4 poncho (which covers you, your backpack, and you can huddle 2 people under it in a shower)

 

Basically what I'm saying is - go with fleece, or micro suede, carry a poncho, save $200; but take that jacket off before you ever try and stalk a deer.

I'm am also looking for some quality rain gear that isn't ridiculously expensive. I am going to Kodiak Island this November and would like some better gear than I have. I'm glad you posted this topic

I use the Kings rain jacket and so far its been great.Im not shure if you were in Alaska how it would do.

The rain gear I presently use if MT050 from Cabelas. I know it's expensive but it's relatively quiet and definately is very water proof. Most of the time, "You get what you pay for". I love my rain gear, never let me down yet!!
