Lots of Coues hunters would love to hunt the TO rez....but I don't think they have a non-tribal hunting program in the same way that say San Carlos or White Mtn Apache Tribes do. There are some non-tribal people that get to hunt it, but I think you really have to know the right people out there....

From what I have heard from others is that there is no program for hunting on that Res and that the only way to hunt on it is to be escorted by a member. Not sure if this is all true but just what I heard. I also know that there have been Desert Sheep that have been shot down by Ajo by tribal members and they did not need a tag and they were both 170+.... With sheep alone they could make a quite bit of money....

There are a bunch of huge Muleys on the Res as well....It would be fun!

My wife's uncle lives in sells and dating a gal from that rez. He told me that you just have to be escorted by a tribal member but not sure of a tag to bring it across onto state land as he just takes it home. I'll find out more and see if his girlfriend has a sister for you.Lol

I have been invited several times by a Tribal member but have declined because I am not sure of the legalities once you bring the animal off the reservation.

Too many things that are not clear for me to risk it.

Takes a strong man to turn down a hunt on the TO!! Wow....I hope you can figure out the regulations and you get to go sometime.

You can hunt with tribal members, and the biggest isssue is that you can not take your trophy off the res. GFD will not recognize it without a tag on it. You could tell the officer where it was shot but it would not matter they would confiscate it and pursue legal action. Or you could go on the hunt bring back the trophy and not show it off or tell anyone. I guess this would be similar to a poacher though, (having an animal that is not tagged and keeping it a secret), but of course it would not be poached. Be careful if you are ever invited, because technically you are supposed to get some sort of permission from the tribal council/police/elders to hunt if you are not a tribal member. Basically there is a giant grey area and this is part of the reason why this is not as good of a hunt than some of you might think. Couple that with the heavily overgrazed land(think moonscape in some areas) and the fact that this traditional smuggling corridor does not only have the most illegal traffic in the state, but the most in the entire southern border. I have had a dec 36c tag and I would honestly rather have one of those again. Its not all it's cracked up to be. Trust me ;)
