Meindl Ibex???

Recommended Posts

Need a new pair of boots for this season, and am looking at the Meindl Ibex. Anyone here have any experience wih them? I can't find any reviews on them. I looked at the Perfekt Hunters which have tons of good reviews, but they are insulated, and a little too heavy for my liking. The Ibex are uninsulated and only 3.2 lbs/pair at 9" which sounds perfect. I was initially looking at the Danner Jackals, but have heard too many people say they don't last. Thanks in advance, ;)

I haven't worn those boots, but have a pair of the Meindl Perfekt hunters, and they one of the best pairs of boots I've ever owned. Based on these boots, I would recommend anything built by Meindl.

BTW, the Perfekt hunters aren't "hot" boots, if you choose good wool socks. Look at SmartWool or Cabela's Ultimate wool socks. Merino wool and nylon blend will make any boot feel better, IMO.

+1 on the Perfect hunters I really like mine.

The only issue I have with them is the laces and eylets make some squeeking noise.

But they are super comfortable and the "BEST" boots I have ever had the pleasure of hiking in

So Coach and izquick, your feet don't get hot in the Perfekts in warm weather? My feet sweat easy, even in fancy socks ;). I haven't worn insulated boots in years.

Meindl Ibex! Awesome boots! Im going to order my second pair soon! My lil bro, a couple hard core hunting buddies and myself all own the Ibex boots! Never broke a lace, tore an eyelet, or have had any sole separations. We hunt Elk, Mule Deer, Coues Deer, Sitka deer, Antelope, Bear and Sheep from the Brooks Range in Alaska to Old Mexico! No complaints at all, you won't be dissapointed!
