I wish I had some pics of my grandfather's deer that he shot with his model 99 300 Savage back then. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away before I was born, but my dad speaks of some big deer that he shot. On a side note, my dad grew up in Warren.... sjvcon Report post Posted December 24, 2011 Those are great deer, and what a sweet old rifle. Gotta find one of those to make a .35 Whelen for Elk hunting. Love to hear the old stories about Arizona. My Grandpa was born in New Mexico, but came to Arizona as a kid. He used to talk about the old days "meat hunting" to feed the family. It was good times listening to those stories.
