bobbyo Report post Posted August 18, 2010 I think it is obvious. I learned this from another post. 1. Have his/her camera take a close up of your .50 cal Barreta semi auto with target length barrel. 2. Put a plastic sack around his/her camera. 3. Write him or her a threatening note. 4. Have your Mom steal his salt. 5. Have Uncle Jesse limp around. In a cameo role. Bob http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=20359

mr.smith Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Get there first. Maybe he is looking for elk while you are looking for deer? Make sure your stuff is locked up and expect competition for the spot. Who knows, you might run into the guy and make a new friend...
JLW Report post Posted August 18, 2010 I asked this a while back. with all the suggestions i think leaving a note with your # so you can maybe work together was the most reasonable so you can be on the same page and maybe compare notes i had a similar situation, i didn't leave a note wish i had. i later met the guy and his sons when i was scouting very nice gentleman. we chatted for a bit discussed our primary plans and all is good. the season is too short to waste time. good luck! james

Str8Shot Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Not being one for using cams or bait, but it your case just move it. look for the heaviest signs of ingress and egress into this spot .... look at surrounding landscape for best possible corridors to bedding areas... look for saddles on any ridges close to the area .... Then move your cam up away from the dinner table he has most likely set and catch them in the cutoff... pay attention to position of the camera so you understand the direction of movement, and if you can find the right corridors set up opening morning catching them between their nighttime buffet table and their bedding area ... But for me I would just save the money and the drama of Uncle Jessie and his clan of mineral lick thieves by not putting one up.

youngbuck Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Legally its first come first serve. I would never put a cam up where some one elses was, unless it was on water, in the middle of nowhere. I would never put a cam on some one elses salt , even it looked old and ran down. I just tell people to folow one simple rule to solve nearly all problems, "Dont be a dumb a**!" Not necesarily directed toward you but perhaps the person who added a camera. I cant really tell from the little bit of story but its still a good rule to follow no matter what.
