mulie hunter Report post Posted August 18, 2010 Im not rifle hunting it. I do archery hunt there every Jan. I have noticed more illegal traffic in the southern portion of the unit. I have a love / hate relationship with this unit, as you know you can go days without seeing a deer but when you do its usually a big one! Good luck on your hunt! ChowDog Report post Posted December 27, 2011 I usually hunt this area in January, found a Non Typical just south of the power station down powerline but you can only get about 150 yards from him haha but so many quads and dirtbikes run that area they pushed them away and now im not sure where they went
soccerstar2013 Report post Posted December 27, 2011 I Have hunted off of rail x Which I know is a very popular area but anyways I went pretty far down the road and was having a hard time seeing any deer! Then one day I decided to pull off at the first spot hike over a hill and start glassing. Wouldnt you know it at last light a nice 4x4 mule deer comes walking right over the hill following to does and running a forky off. Never saw him again! They are in there you just have to be in the right spot at the right time!
