Brian Payne Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Andy, You are tearing it up with those new trail cameras! My guess is that the last buck is an older buck that is on the decline.
Azlongears Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Yea these cams are sweet, but I prolly wouldn't be hiking my dumb @ss all over the desert if I didn't have Becker along to get all excited with? And he might be an old buck, but there are defintily some freak genitics bouncin around the area he is living in? You think he's a grandpa Becker? LB

Brian Payne Report post Posted September 23, 2005 I would say those are fox in the previous photos, not coyotes, but no doubt that is a whopper bobcat.
COUESAZ Report post Posted September 23, 2005 I think your right Brian. It is a nice cat, but those are fox if you ask me. And if you look at the cacti behind them you will see they are closer in size than they look with out looking at that. That time I got red X's and hit the left buton and clicked on show picture and the showed up again.
DEERSLAM Report post Posted September 23, 2005 Grey fox and bobcat. I believe an adult bobcat is generaly going to be bigger than a grey fox. I've called in a number of both and the bobcats have always been bigger.
daryl_s Report post Posted September 23, 2005 bobcat Concise Encyclopedia Article Page 1 of 1 Bobcat (Felis rufa) Joe Van Wormer/Photo Researchers "Bobtailed, long-legged North American cat (Lynx rufus) found in forests and deserts from southern Canada to southern Mexico. It is a close relative of the lynx and caracal. Bobcats have large paws and tufted ears; are 24?40 in. (60?100 cm) long, excluding the 4?8-in. (10?20-cm) tail; stand 20?24 in. (50?60 cm) at the shoulder; and weigh 15?33 lb (7?15 kg). The fur is pale brown to reddish with black spots. Bobcats are nocturnal and generally solitary. They feed on small mammals and some birds and are important for controlling rodent and rabbit populations. They are sometimes found in suburban areas." I don't know what to think anymore......Does that seem too big to anyone else to be a bobcat????? It sure looks quite a bit larger to me. It has all the right markings to be a bobcat but it just looks too big to me. Either way I think that that is an awesome picture.
