The end of the lifesize lion mount topic

Recommended Posts

This afternoon the lion mount topic that I started about a week ago was pulled from the discussion board because things got ugly. I am member number 25 on this site and have been coming here for better than 10 years and in that time I don't think I have ever seen a topic with more participation than this one. A big thank you to everyone that expressed their opinions. I really got more than I ever expected. Also a big thank you to everyone that was able to keep things on topic and kept their comments respectful. Regardless of what your position was I hope everyone was able to learn something about taxidermy from this experience that will help you make informed decisions the next time you want to hang your trophy of a lifetime on the wall.

Looks like one positive thing that we are all getting as a result of this topic is a Taxidermy discussion forum. I can't wait to check out some of the awesome mounts and artistry that will be posted here in the months to come!

Please don't use this to try and bring it back to life. Put it to rest... I have!

Thanks,

Tim

Amen to that!! It's time to focus on more important things, like the antelope I am going to kill tomorrow!!!

From the little I did read I say good.

Wish I had read it all though.

Probably best I didn't LOL

I have learned to bite my tong.

Your welcome Amanda and you will not have to scold me any more.

 ;)

I just hope you got what you wanted out of it Tim, and most of all that your new mount will be just like you pictured it ;) . And again I applaud you on how you handled the situation. It was also a good reminder of how tight we are on here: it was good to see us support one another.

I enjoyed the thread while it lasted. That was the most civil discussion of it's type in the history of CouesWhitetail.com and I think that is primarily because of TAM and the way he led the discussion. Thanks to all who added thoughtful, productive comments in the thread. TAM told me he had more than enough of what he needed from the thread and he wasn't interested in seeing it go so far downhill, so thanks to everyone for helping him out.

That lion thread did seem to prompt alot of people to post photos of their mounts and several of you requested that I add a taxidermy subforum. So I have done so. I hope it is useful and fun for you all. :)

That thread was both educational and entertaining ... thanks to Amanda for keeping it up so long and for the new forum. We should all learn something from this ... RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH ... there ... I said it 3 times so maybe I won't forget it ... ;)

Tim, if you are interested, I may have found a taxidermist for you. He's one of the best!

I can see locking the thread so nobody else can post anymore but removing it entirely?? I think that was a little much. There were a lot of folks on there that hadn't posted in like forever and we won't get to see any of their comments or opinions on anything. I didn't think it got very ugly at all. But what do I know?
