I didn't say high fenced, I said fenced. Most outfitters have access to private or Fenced in land, and can set up water holes, food plots, mineral licks etc, and let deer go undisturbed to said areas for years without having to worry about someone scouting him up or wandering into the spot and taking their deer. I know money talks, and if I had the money maybe I would do that myself.

I know up in unit 10 they are fighting like crazy to keep the gates open, but if a bunch of US outfitters clients buy up an area that keeps the gates locked for 98% of the hunters in the unit out, then shoot a world record Elk 5 years later are they heros???

I guess the underdog in me wishes someone scouting for himself shooting a 10 year old bow gets the world record, not Chuck Adams or someone who pays for it, but that is just me.

I know several hunters that have hunted with the Wards and without fail they said they were awesome hunts and great people, so by no means was I being critical of them, just what the hunting world is turning into.

Want a P&Y Coues deer? Go to private land or Mexico & pay your money.

Every Coues deer with a bow is a trophy, and congrats to everyone who is fortunate enough to take one or more.

Maybe I'm just bitter because my tag is filled for 2010, and I am jealous that I can't be out there chasing them around like the other hacks I hunt with... That's probably it...

Anyone can go out and chase a "P & Y" coues on public land (pretty easy to find a "P & Y"). You don't need to go to Mexico or hunt private property. Just have to get off the couch

Finding and shooting are two different things, and no, I wasn't referring to a 65" deer, I was speaking of a hunter, that is willing to spend the money to go to someone else's ranch and pay 3k or 4k can shoot a 90 incher with no skill or effort at all...

For Example, A friend draws a Bow tag for Elk after 15 years, hunts 12 days and shoots a 315" elk.

Another guy spends 35k and goes to the White Mountain Indian Reservation and shoots a 400 inch Elk, after passing on 25 bulls bigger than 315", which one is the bigger trophy? No fences, just a $35k price tag. That was my point.

Arizona doesn't have "high fence" ranches, but to imply that we do not have the basically the same thing with the giant private ranches reserved for those with the fat check book is just skirting the reality of what AZ hunting is becoming...
