AntlerObsession Report post Posted August 4, 2010 Would wolves be able to get through the gate panel? Could be for sheep, just depends on where its at. Or goats.
NRS Report post Posted August 4, 2010 Looks like a small corral that was put up by recreationist (hunters or campers with horses).
jamaro Report post Posted August 4, 2010 That is a serious corral for some sheep... That panel is also in a strange place.. it would be tough to get a truck in there...
huntswnm Report post Posted August 4, 2010 Hey man. Like you said on your website I think the wolf enclosure is probably spot on.....just my opinion. When I first read your post I had forgotten you were scouting AZ and when you said those were pics of unit 27 I thought to myself....I have been down to Unit 27 and i have NEVER seen country like that down there Good luck on your hunt......to bad about your camera that is crazy! I have only had 1 stolen here in NM and I almost hate to use the word stole cause I really think some hotshots picked it up cause a fire burned right through where i had it set up. jeff
Benbrown Report post Posted August 4, 2010 it looks to me like a little branding corral--a place where the permittee can run a few cows and calves in, cut out the cows and brand the calves. Cows are usually so scattered on forest allotments that rounding up all of them would take several days and you would have to hire a big crew to hold the cut and brand all the calves. Using these little corrals, you can just round up a few each day and get it done with two or three guys over a period of a few weeks.
