.270 Report post Posted August 13, 2010 got my new scope today. what a great setup. my youngest son is here loading ammo and he wants to steal it from me. i didn't realize it was gonna be a 30mm tube. i really like dot reticles and they are really hard to find in a good scope. everyone has gone to the duplex. they're fine but for running game there is nothing better than a dot. except maybe a peep, but my eyes ain't that good anymore. i need magnification. anway, if any o' you flatlanders have been thinking about new scope, you best get in on this deal. soon as my wife is lookin' the other way, i'm gonna get another one. this is my first vortex, but my boys have scopes, spotters and binos in various configgerations and they are all great stuff. soon as he's done stuffin' bullets, we're headed to town for some new rings. was gonna put it on my 22/250, but this one is gonna go on my .264. even got a new hat and a package o' coffee. gr8fuldug, there is a photo in there. which one is you? Lark.

.270 Report post Posted August 13, 2010 he said he liked it as well. when you figger the difference in price, he likes it better. the cheapest varix 2 3x9 i can find anywhere right now is about $300. this is a helluva lot better scope than that. real clear. nice skinny crosshairs. just a speck for a dot. like they should be. some dots are about the size of a pie plate. like i said, anybody that needs a scope and has a few bucks oughta jump on this deal. the way the adjustmant knobs are, you could set it up like a turret scope, using the existing dials, with a little shooting. i'm all excited. bought some colorado goat tags the other day. i can already see me aiming down this new vortex on one in octember. youngbuck Report post Posted August 13, 2010 Good to hear, I know Kenton makes turrets for the Viper series too. That would make a pretty good, low priced, long range rig.
My Rights As An American Report post Posted August 14, 2010 Got my scope today also. Looks GREAT with the target dot reticle. My only complaint is that I did not get a hat or coffee in my package. Not sure whose wheaties I peed in, but I am sad. Other than that, LOVE the scope already. Wanted to mount it to my 22-250, but I will need new rings. Going to check out Bass Pro right now.
