Concealed Weapon Law

Recommended Posts

It is nice to carry the pistol in the car under the seat or on my person concealed without permit. I do not worry about those familiar with weapons, but rather those that are not, and don't know the ramifications or legal aspects of what happens to that fired round. I hope those that are new to conceal carry would consider training rather than just carrying for the novelty of it.

I've had taken hunting and gun safety courses and I was concidering a CCW permit but now that this law passes, I'm happy that I can carry my XD40 on my person legally. I have been looking for a XD40 holdster carry concealed and I am a little lost and If anyone has any recommendations let me know, but besides that, I am also in fear of some gang bangers carrying and especially uneducated people carrying a gun and accidently firing it in a mall or something. Know what your carrying and how it works, but especially know the damage it can cause before you carry concealed.

The permit will still be issued/renewed if one still diesired too. Itx good training to have, there is no backround check when buying guns from an ffl and a fire arm cannot be POSSESED without a permit in some state and city parks . There plenty of gray areas between the new law and the old law its worth reading them both and at times side by side.

Can you carry a pistol on your waist w/o it being concealed on a nature walk or hike at a state park, like hiking the

Superstition Mountain? Because, I never go hiking in the wilderness without my firearm by my side... I have never used it and don't plan on it but it's so that in the event that s**t hits the fan I can protect my family and I.

I'm surprised it passed. It removed the mandatory education and a revenue generator for the state. Either way, it is still smart to educate yourself, be ethical, and project a positive image.

Abovethecoues hit the nail on the head... Education is important especially with a firearm, this state is in need of money and CCW classes definately feed the Gov't. But now the dumb felon and teens who can't possess pistol will get caught and feed more money to the gov't in fines, more than CCW $70 classes will ever come close. Criminals have to be one of the top sources to AZ's money supply (LOOK AT HE PEOPLE CONVICTED FOR DUI's, EVERY YEAR THE FINES AND PENALTIES GET TOUGHER). So in other words, I know this law is going to also pump money to our rut of an economy, carrying concealed with an illegal possessor only means more penalties and conviction time AKA MORE MONEY TO ARIZONA. YAY

The bad part of no CCW is that you can't legally carry in another state that would allow you to if you had a CCW.

If you wanna carry concealed, take the class still. Simple as that. One of the most informative classes on legal responsibilities for defending your life. Im all for gun rights but i wasnt a fan of this bill. It is what it is. I need to read up on national park rules still. MJ for an XD concealed try a crossbread. For somethin easier i use a fobus paddle and another shirt (long sleve button up) over a tucked in t shirt.

Its not hard to guess the writers opinoin in the story....incase a camper starts firing his gun at a niose in the dark. Wow the last time I was camping and heard a noise at night I waisted so much ammo when I. Began unloading both full auto aks. I guess I should bring more ammo and the rpgs on my next camping trip just in case.

People, you make it sound like the right to Cary concealed is going to make us all run out And start shooting people. I do not read anyace that there was a spike in gun sales to the crazies of Arizona in the last couple days. I have not read about new gangs of nutts running around with hidden guns in their pants shooting at criminals. My guess is that the only folks that are going to start and Cary concealed are going to be some of those that caries open to begain with. And those folks did not shoot people just because they had a gun. Can you believe I have had guns for over 30 year and never shot into a crowd of people and ne er shot at anyone in a grocery store. Intact I have been shot at by crooks and even had a concealed sidearm and never even went for my gun.I figured I would make a better witness than a hero anyways. Oh well this is just my thoughts.

No, I dont think there will be a spike in sales due to the law. My intent on the article was to show that it allows one to carry on national parks grounds. I think in general, Arizona has a great population of people who know how to handle a weapon. It is the part of the population that knows nothing about them that the media focusses on to promote their view. I took a ccw class a few years ago, and learned the real point of conceal carry. The instructor offered his opinon on the "gang" or "robbery" scenario, watch and report. I hope I never come to the need to use what I carry, but it is comforting to me to know if it does come to that, I am ready.

+1

I plan to keep my CCW current so I can carry in other states that have reciprocity agreements with AZ. Also, the training is very good. They don't teach you how to shoot, but they teach you the laws, legalities, and consequences of using lethal force in AZ.
