Was the one buck from last year big enough that you probably shouldn't be worrying about how big he'll grow this year? I think so. He definitely looks like a shooter. And I believe those owls are western screech owls. It's a little hard to tell scale in the photo. A screech owl is a very small owl, maybe 8-10 inches tall.
