thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted July 27, 2010 I have had this scope on my deer rifle for several years. It is in great shape, and works perfect. It was gloss finish, but I sent it to McMillan and had it coated to match my stock. You can see the coating in the pictures. The glass is in great shape, no chips or scratches. It is used, and the body has a few small marks. I have been watching these scopes on ebay and they go for around $400.00 used most of the time. I would like to get $365.00 TYD. As always I am open to trades. LEUPOLD VARI X-III 3.5-10X40 DUPLEX RETICAL $335.00 TYD PAYPAL OR POSTAL MO ONLY PLEASE

Benbrown Report post Posted August 3, 2010 Not being critical, but when you alter something to fit your unique situation, you exclude a lot of potential buyers from the buying pool. Although the function of the scope is in no way compromised, most folks are looking for a gloss, matte or silver finish scope to match the metal finish on their rifle. The ones that go for $400 on ebay do not have the finish that matches your stock finish. Rifle loonies are funny but that's the way we are. Good luck--I sincerely hope you get what you need for it. Hoofnit Report post Posted August 3, 2010 +1 on the above....that finish looks like standard wrinkle paint in which case it can be removed quite easily with lacquer thinner, a rag, and some elbow grease...just don't get any on the lenses. Mark
