sjvcon Report post Posted July 24, 2010 Anyone know a gunsmith that can open a .30-06 Bolt Face for a Magnum ... it's a Winchester Classic, so is Controlled Round Feed. Anyone have an idea what that will cost?
jeffro Report post Posted July 24, 2010 I have always heard its usually cheaper to just trade for a Mag BF action. Get a new bolt. Too bad its not a REM. These can be bought from PTG for around $80-$100. Im not sure about Win. I dont mess with WIN. Try whitecloud gunsmithing. Not much help but maybe an idea. Mike S Report post Posted July 24, 2010 Check with Accuracy Speaks in Mesa. They do a wide variety of work with reasonable rates.
sjvcon Report post Posted July 24, 2010 Mike S ... Good call ... wish I would have stopped there this AM when I was shooting at Rio Salado. Jeffro ... yeah, I've heard of Whitecloud ... supposed to be really good. I'll have to call them as well. Thanks. Now you know a Winchester guy will never wish that he had a Remy instead, right ???
