azcouesandelk Report post Posted September 11, 2005 Well I went down to 36b scouting for my November tag yesterday and did pretty good. All in all I saw 7 bucks and out of those 7 3 were defenite shooters in my book. While we were camping though we kept having border patrol coming into our camp throughout the night. I have no clue what this was for but we packed up at 2:30 this morning and drove to Casa Grande area to spend the rest of the night. Here are some pics. We also saw 2 bucks that were noticeablly larger than this buck.
coueshunter Report post Posted September 11, 2005 I really hope you have a great hunt and shoot a nice buck. This buck in the pic is an nice buck...........the 36 units are overrun with border crossers and the patrol is very cautious and checks out any camp, so dont be upset, they are trying to protect us.........makes the hunt harder but you will shoot a good buck this year............Allen.......... BASS Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Nice pics. I hope you get the chance to shoot one of those big ones. I had a good friend hunt 36 last year. His suburban squats really bad in the back from hauling too much weight with a cheap lift. He told me he was stopped just about everytime he was driving by the BP. I would be glad they would be coming into my camp, and if had the chance, offer them a nice cold drink.
gnoto Report post Posted September 15, 2005 I spend a lot of time in that area. Get to know the BP guys. They see a lot more then Illegals. They will also tell you the most travelled areas and ones to generally avoid during the hunt. Funny thing though. Last year when I broke down in Jan during the Archery hunt in 36A a BP guy drove by and had no real desire to help me in anyway. I had to hike for quite sometime to get a cell signal and call for help. Liuckily the guys At Luna's Garage in Amado were willing to help.
