Info for 30a

Recommended Posts

This will be my first time hunting in 30a. Does anyone have any info that you wouldn't mind sharing about the unit. I have a couple of general areas where I have planned to visit before the Nov. hunt. but if anyone could give some tips about the unit or give some kind of direction it would be very helpful. Thanks, and good luck to all this season.

Not sure how this works but here I go. There are lots of places to hunt COUES in 30A. Try the Half Moon Valley - you will be right smack in the middle of them. The same goes for the Peloncio Mountains on the easten border of AZ. (take a lion tag). Lots of land has been closed off by ranchers due to all of the illegal traffic, however you can walk in to places like Skeleton Canyon and Starvation Canyon.

You can also hunt the south side of the road up in the Rucker Canyon area - lots of places to park right off the road. I'm not talking about road hunting - that is for wimps and lazy people (not counting CHAMP hunters). Good luck!
