AKC dog papers

Recommended Posts

I have thought long and hard about posting this information and feel that I am obligated to do so. I bought a puppy from Jim Johnson last year. The puppies were born on July 2nd of 2009. Jim is known as AZMEATHUNTER on this forum. Jim raises very good quality German Shorthaired Pointers. The pups were advertised on this forum as AKC registered. I went and looked at the dam and sire before I bought my puppy and was very impressed with both dogs. I gave Jim half of the asking price when I looked at the pups and the other half when I picked my puppy up to bring her home after she was weaned. Here is where the problem comes into play. When I gave Jim the final payment on my puppy, he said that he had been late getting the registration information mailed and he should have the necessary paper work to register my puppy any day and that he would send it to me as soon as he recieved it. I don't know if I am an easy target or just prone to give people I don't know the benefit of the doubt. Bottom line is I still don't have the necessary paper work to register my puppy and she was one year old on July 2nd. I have heard every excuse in the book from Jim from I was staying with friends, I haven't picked up the mail lately, i've been elk hunting for five weeks-you name it. Now he just doesn't respond to phone calls or emails. I know Jim professes to be a follower of Christ-but one of the ten commandments is thou shalt not lie-and that is exactly what he has done to me. If any of you other Coues Whitetail members are thinking of buying a dog from Jim or doing any business with him the only thing I can tell you is buyer beware-I don't know how he has been to deal with with others who have purchased dogs from him on this forum that were advertised as AKC registered dogs-but I do know that he has been a liar to me-and if a man's word is no good neither is he. Enough said.

Ted

I'd say that a full year is PLENTY of time!!

Good on ya for bringing it to everyone's attention.

Hope you get those papers.. After all, you were sold a puppy from registered lineage..

On a separate note, lets hope for monsoon rains.. Those Mearns need it to rebound from the dismal season last year. I've been seeing the pairs out there... They're just waiting for the right time.

I have known Jackshoe for a good many years now, thru our jobs with the City of Chandler, and we have discussed this issue many times over the past year. He has been reluctant to post this. I know for a fact that he has talked to Jim Johnson several times and has been promised he would get the papers on Reba. I would say a year is more than long enough. I recently bought a akc lab and had the papers a week after buying her. What Jackshoe has gone through is beyond what any dog buyer should ever have to endure. I'm glad you finally posted this Ted. It might prevent a new dog owner from going thru what you have.

Unfortunately if he does not get the papers and provide them to you there is nothing you can do. In my experience it takes about 1 week to receive papers from the time the paperwork is sent in on the parents. It is also my experience that if you dont get papers at the time of pick up and payment the parents are probably not registered dogs and the litter cannot be papered either.

good luck to you
