BigMoqui Report post Posted July 13, 2010 Just kiddin' they are everywhere. I have about 4-5 good locations on the rim. My family and I are going to take a trip up this weekend (18-19). We generally do this every year, but the last few years I seem to not be timing it right. When I was a kid and we had a cabin on the rim we generally picked ripe berries at the beggining of Aug. But over the last ten years it seems like every year it flucuates. Some years in Aug some in late July. So my question is this: When is the average date the berries on the rim ripen? Do the brambles bellow the rim ripen earlier? Again not lookin' for locations just times. Hopefully there will be some ripe ones this weekend. OOOHWHEE I can't wait for some hot cobbler! We also used to do icecream YUMMM!
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 13, 2010 Interesting questions.....I have some friends that pick a lot of blackberries, hopefully they will see your post and respond. I have heard it's a great year for the blackberries! Seems to be a great year for everything actually. If you like saguaro fruits, they are ripening up now in most places and are quite tastey!
