Unit 32

Recommended Posts

Well i put in for unit 32 again this year and am hoping to scout some new areas. I always used to hunt in the Gauluiros along copper creek, but the buck to doe ratio SUCKS there. One hunt i glassed 35 does, 2 spikes, and one nicd 4x4 that was too far away. Anyone else hunt here? In whats section of the unit do you hunt? I have hunted here the past two years and am hoping for a new gameplan.

If you are seeing that many does, the bucks are not too far off. The deer in each area act differently, in my opinion. Some bucks (usually the more mature ones) are just much harder to find, and the does are pretty simple to spot. Sometimes, you are right, and the bucks are just not there. But if there are that many does, I would put money on it that the bucks are not far off.

Sorry I cannot give you more specifics on your unit, but that is a lot of does for only a handful of bucks. They are probably pretty close by to where you have seen the does.

we hunted down there a couple times and can say that copper creek is a good area but the access is crap and our experience paying and using the mercers roads where not that great of one. Similar sightings and no real shooters.... If I was to hunt there again and stick to the area you speak of I would get real good at locating some good water sources a couple miles in and more specifically any maybe within a mile of the closest ones where you are spotting the does. Set up a base camp and Hike in and cold camp a couple nights at a time. It has been several years but if you have any more questions pm me I will help with what I can

there's more bucks around and certainly more does around too. Keep working that area and improve glassing and or glass at different angles. Bucks are always there, we just rarely see them. You saw 2 spikes and a real nice 4x4, certainly that means there's some forkhorns and small 3x3's around. If I were you, stick to that same area and glass from different spots, move around a bit, 3 bucks can't fertilize 35 does

copper creek is good and both hendrickson ranches are good. drive as far as possible then walk in 2 miles before sun up. glass before you even think its light enough, then bed em and stalk em.

There are 1440 rifle tags for 32 whitetail not including juniors or archery. Those bucks learn how to hide real fast or they die.

Wow man you are kinda trying to find out some honey holes that other people hunt!!! lol just kidding but I have hunted that unit alot before and I hunt around Arivipa Canyon...I dont think I spelled that right! And I always see at least a few mature deer! But also depends on what time of the year you are hunting there also bc if you are seeing that many doe in the rut the bucks are not far away but I am sure u already know that! But good luck

If there are that many does in that area. Just keep looking really hard and do your fair share of scouting. I guarantee you that you will find the buck your looking for, once you locate where he lives.. One thing for certain! the bucks are certainly not far from those does...

I just drew a tag for this unit myself. The friends I hunt with all know the southern part of the unit real well, but we are trying farther north. A friend of mine hunts this unit every year with his family and they rarely come home with just a tag. They stick to the area around Arivipa canyon (I think I spelled that wrong). you can't hunt the canyon, but the areas around it are supposed to be full of deer. Hopefully we both find a nice spot with a few bucks and a little luck.
