cdenton Report post Posted July 12, 2010 Left my camera out all winter and finally went and checked it about a month ago. It's a Covert II and the batteries lasted from December 31-April 12 and it took 1181 pictures. I was impressed. Anyways, I got these pics that were cool but go no pics of the big buck I've been watching for a few years. Although, I've never got a pic of the buck when he's hardhorned. I have seen him in the same spot hardhorned but just never got him on camera. It's the weirdest thing. If I don't have him the next time I check the cam I am gonna start getting nervous. Here's a pic of him last year.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 12, 2010 Glad that cam is working so well for you. And thanks for the report on the batteries. Were they lithiums or regular batteries? Did the card fill up before the batteries died?
cdenton Report post Posted July 12, 2010 Amanda, Yea the camera is working out great. They were just regular old double A's. I was a little worried leaving it out in the winter with the freezing temperatures and thinking that the batteries wouldn't last as long and they lasted longer than they ever have before. I have the camera set on the ground and i know it got covered with snow a couple of times and it still works fine. No bear box on it. It's sealed tight and never leaked into the camera and corroded the batteries or anything.
bonecollector Report post Posted July 12, 2010 Cool pic of the lion on the snow. Last time I checked my cam the card filled up before the batteries died and I had 1300 pics on it. Covert II with regular AA's. Great cameras cant wait to get the new ones.

catclaw Report post Posted July 16, 2010 My cameras always fill up before batteries die. It's a shame they can't support bigger cards!
