More D Report post Posted July 9, 2010 i have once in 32 while hunting mulies. High above on a look out my wife and i saw 2 different groups of does meet. Each had from 6-10 does and yearlings. At first they kind of mixed and mingled but soon two of what im guessing to be the lead does went at it like in your pic. It reminded me of two boxers going at it. After 60-90 second they stopped 'boxing' and all started to follow just one big doe. I imagined they were establishing dominace...cool stuff!

youngbuck Report post Posted July 9, 2010 Ive seen it, but more with elk than deer. I have trail pics of elk but not deer. Ive seen many momma elk keep their young'ins in check with a front hoof. Usually it is short lived. Ive never seen a fight last more than 20-30 seconds.
