SuperiorBowHunter Report post Posted July 7, 2010 What do you guys think in the two scopes? I was at the Outdoorsman over the weekend and for about 2 hours was trying to find the visual difference in the 2 scopes(Swaro 80mm HD Vs. Swaro 80mm)? I thought it was really hard and the guys told me that it would take awhile that the longer you look through them that you would begin to see the difference. Now am I alone in thinking that the diffence might not warrant spending the extra $1300? I was hard for me......so i am asking your opinions on the matter and is there something that I am missing? Does anyone feel te same way i do? Either way I would love to hear what everyone has to say?
azslim Report post Posted July 7, 2010 I read somewhere that the HD is great for digiscoping but for avg glassers we wouldn't see much of a difference. Have no idea if that is the case, haven't spent any time behind an HD scope.
KCA205 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 I have both scopes, an older ST80 and a newer STS65HD and the only way I can tell a difference is the picture quality I get with my Minox DCM. Other than the pictures, you really can't see any difference.
SuperiorBowHunter Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Yeah i read where these lens are sooooo much better then what our eyes see that we really cant pick up the detail like we should
JRH Report post Posted July 8, 2010 I have seen digiscoping pictures from both models with the same camera. Big difference. Colors pop out at you with the HD model. this would be the one if your snapping pics. Non-HD model is great but not my choice if i was gettin into digiscoping. BigWave Report post Posted July 8, 2010 If those are the 2 that you have settled on, why not buy the best of the 2? The HD is definetely great glass, but the regular version isnt too far behind, IMO. The HD is definetely more $$ but I thought you said in your Kowa-vs-Swaro post that $$ wasnt an issue....

More D Report post Posted July 8, 2010 not to make it harder but why not the 65 vs 80. is the extra light gathering worth weight/expense?
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted July 8, 2010 I think the HD helps at low light... I bought the STS65 HD and love it..... sometimes those last few moments in the evening or first few moments in the morning are very important.... +1 on all the digiscope coments....
