.270 Report post Posted December 15, 2011 there are a lotta jags. just not here. from all the old timers i know, there never have been. it's just too far north from where they thrive. the jungles and swamps are their kinda country. both of my grandads saw them. my great uncle killed one when he was a gov't trapper. i know one other guy that killed one. a guy that is alive anyway. and they are way cool. i remember seeing one at the Az/sonora museum. huge critters. they look like through you. muledeerarea33? Report post Posted December 15, 2011 Bout 10 years I was in the middle of a bench seat between my uncle and dad driving to quail springs, as we dropped down we watched a black cat round the bend in the wash. once we got down there we saw tracks so we knew it wasnt a cow or something else. never spotted it again. CDBishop Report post Posted December 21, 2011 My grandpa once told me that 20 years ago he saw an ocelot up near redington pass just north east of Tucson. Then just this last week a cowboy on one of our coues ranches in Sonora mentioned he had seen a spotted cat. This really sparked our interest and so we asked how big it was, He told us it was small like the size of a bobcat. maybe a Ocelot. Was wondering if anyone else has seen or herd of any in AZ? I think ive seen some trail cam pics of Ocelots in AZ somewhere. Im sure most of you have already seen this but its not been mentioned so i thought id link.
