I'm shooting the same powder and bullet but only 51.5gr. I'm shooting under 1/2" groups at 100yrds and when I bumped up the powder a bit, my groups got larger. I'm about 3100fps so you've got to be SCREAMING! Sounds like your rifle likes it, though.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted June 25, 2010 My .257 wby likes R25 with the 100 TTSX, and H4831sc with everything else, and was a all around good powder for all bullets and weights.
Coach Report post Posted June 25, 2010 115 grain CT ballistic tips on 50.0 grains of IMR 4350. Shoots very tight. My gun likes longer bullets at 3.25 OAL. Good luck and remember to tell us what worked for you!

narrox Report post Posted June 28, 2010 nice thread. my hawkey likes the following: 75 grn Sierra HP moly coated on top of Reloader 15 use the book specs. Mine run on the high side. This load make pretty little clover-leaves on paper and pink spray out of ground squirels. 117 Hornady BTSP moly coated on top of grains Reloader 22. Nice load works well on the steel turkeys out at the Tucson Rifle Club, and so far great on a pair of coyotes. Hoping for a tag next month! I suggest that you pull up the reloader guide from Alliant Powder. Nosler and Hornady have great reloader pages as well.

Pushed it till I noticed the primer unseating and then backed off looking for a good group. Obviously don't have the gun anymore, but that's the info I have on my computer for that load. If my memory serves me right, I found tighter groups at about 2.5gr less, but it was her rifle and that's what she wanted to shoot. She wanted the longest range for a dead on hold she could get. And then had that shot at 40 yards. Go figure. Jerry
