Play for Payten Golf-a-thon

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Based on the enormous response on coueswhitetail.com for other events and fundraisers, I knew this would be a great place to turn for this great cause. After talking with Amanda, she advised me to post it here.

A family I know has a daughter, Payten, who has had medical trials since birth. She is now 20-months old and has undergone multiple surgeries, tests, and complications with no definite reason for her trials. Due to her medical difficulties, her family could use financial help. They have put together a charity 36-hole golf-a-thon on July 12 at Ocotillo Golf Course to raise money for her charity, Payten's Prayers. This will be a great event and helping a wonderful family.

The family lives in Apache Junction. They have 3 kids (Payten is the youngest). She has an older brother and sister. So far the surgeries are either exploratory or a quick fix (such as the heart surgery for her enlarged heart). Right now there are no surgeries planned, but that could literally change any day. They really have no idea what is causing all of her issues or if they even know about all of them as a new one seems to pop up every now and then. The parents have literally gone from no medical knowledge to being trained on how to put in a tracheotomy tube, a breathing tube, a feeding tube, etc… It is literally a 24/7 second job to make sure everything is always running the way it is supposed to for her. A full night’s sleep is nonexistent for them (every 2 hours something needs to be replaced or cleaned) but you would rarely, if ever, hear them complain about it.

I have attached a flyer that explains Play for Payten Golf-a-thon and how you can help. You can also read her story at her website http://payten.homestead.com/baby.html.

If you would like to play, you can find out how to register on her website and the attached flyer. If you would like to contribute but would rather not golf, you can pledge a per hole donation towards my golf game. Just $1/hole will contribute $36 to her charity. Please click on the following link to pledge towards my game:

Thank you for your help, it truly is appreciated. If you have colleagues, friends, church acquaintances or anyone else that may be interested in helping, please forward this information.

Again, you are more than welcome to play in the event (and then you too can have funds pledged towards your game) or you can simply donate any amount to my game (many people are donating $1/hole, some more, some less and even some are donating a flat amount of $20, $30, really anything helps!).

If you have any questions, please send me a PM or respond here and I'll be checking regularly.

Wanted to add the following info because I didn't make it too clear in the original post...

If you go to the site with my name, it is just to make a pledge to my game. If you want to play, you need to go to the site on the PDF, which is http://integritygolfsolutions.com/, it will let you sign up and then you can search for the event. It is the only event they have going on in AZ right now, so it should be easy to find. Then, you can play and have people pledge towards your game.

Hey everyone,

Plenty of spots still open for the tourney. Ocotillo is a great course and if you can make it just pledge $36 to your game and play a great course for a great cause.

Still plenty of spots open if you would like to play and pledge to yourself (even if you don't want to ask others to pledge to you, it is a great opportunity). $36 is right about the current summer discounted rate that you can get. In peak season it is over $130/round and the normal rate for right now is over $60/round. If you can make it on July 12th (two weeks from today) the family would be grateful. Remember, nothing is too small to help them out.
