Red Rabbit Report post Posted June 22, 2010 Fire Restrictions The Coconino will implement fire restrictions on Wednesday, June 23. Due to high very fire danger, these restrictions are deemed necessary to protect public health and safety and prevent human-caused wildfires. The restrictions will prohibit fires, campfires, charcoal, coal or wood stoves outside of developed campgrounds and limit smoking to within enclosed vehicles or buildings or in developed campgrounds. Pressurized liquid or gas stoves, lanterns, and heaters meeting safety specifications will continue to be allowed.

I have put out many camp fires over the years after those who have left them not completely out. I wish they would teach this in school and just maybe it would carry over to the parents. We have got to continue the educate about the dangers of fires. I would like to see more signs along the roads in our forest to remind campers and visitors of the dangers and fines. bonecollector Report post Posted June 22, 2010 There is really no excuse for this, if your a camper you should know to drown your campfire with water before you leave even if its not smoking. When I used to go to the dunes in Cal. I would drown out the camp fire and thats in the sand! I hope they catch the culprits.
