John O Report post Posted June 6, 2010 I would treat them like a nice buck you are trying to pattern. Go purchase some non working (but nice looking) equipment from a swap meat or garage sale. Put it out in plain sight, and make it appear available. Invest in some IR game cams, and mount them such that you can get photos of them without them knowing about it. Turn them into the cops, and have their tails hauled off to jail. You need to be very careful not to let your emotions lead you to take action that could potentially tie you up legally, or even land you in jail. The laws about using deadly force to defend your property against thieves have a lot of gray area, and in the end you would be subject to their interpretation by a jury of your peers. You and your family are not worth this risk, so do yourself a favor and find a way to handle this from a distance. This is just my advice, take it or leave it. As a father of 4 young kids, all I know is that their safety and our family stability is more important than anything, and it is not something worth risking. Good luck, and I hope you can find a way to nail these dirt bags.
Diamondbackaz Report post Posted June 7, 2010 Stealing a man's tools that he uses to make a living with is the lowest thing a person can do. That and stealing a mans guns. See if your homeowners insurance may help cover the loss.
