I recently shot a bunch as I was in search of a new bow as well.

I had in mind to buy a Monster XLR8... but after shooting a bunch of bows, I narrowed it down to the Destroyer 350 and the Mathews Z7.

Both bows are extremely quiet with the edge to the Z7

Both bows very fast with the edge to the Bowtech

Both have little handshock with the edge to the Z7

Both were within like 10-20 bucks of each other, Mathews was the cheaper

I loved the flex cable guard on the destroyer, but doubted the outside the limb cam/axle setup.

In all I would have been pleased with either bow, but I went with the Mathews Z7 in the end, it just seemed to point better and man is it smooth.

I'm gonna hold off a year to see how this thing shakes down. If Bowtech come out with a Destroyer in a 35" ATA, I'll probably go that route. I like a little taller bow. Otherwise, we'll see what Hoyt changes on their Maxxis for 2011, or if Mathews can put out a "new and improved" Switchback - not sure if the Z7 is their best concept yet. It still seem like '05 was a great year for bows with the Allegiance from Bowtech and the Switchback from Mathews. Both companies have put out a lot of bows in the past few years, but have yet to improve on those two. Gotta look closer at the Maxxis also. When Gino and Coosefan jump ship, it's something to consider anyway.

:o Dang! Not that often a guy gets a compliment like that from his piers! Thanks, Jason! :D

And I assure you if you shot my Maxxis 35 right now set up the way it is.... you would have your own just like it in 10 days or less.... it is that good. ;)
