Yet another drawing question

Recommended Posts

My son and I are having a friendly discussion about the draw. Say when you apply for deer, is your name (names) getting a random number by hunt number or for genus? In other words is there one giant deer lottery or a single lottery for each hunt number?

From my understanding it is a big giant lottery

Your application is given a random #

Bonus point quota is met for each hunt that applies

Then 1st and 2nd choice in the first pass

Then 3rd.....4th.....5th

They will keep filling up the hunt #'s until they have met the alloted # of tags.

Does that make sense.

Is this correct? If you have multiple Bonus points you are assigned that many random #'s?

Giant Deer Lottery. You get a number for each bonus point you have and one additional. Ex. 2 bonus points = 3 random numbers. Then they only take your lowest (best) number that you drew. They start to see who drew the #1 and give them their first choice and move on down the number list until all of the hunts are filled.

There's also a bonus point round prior to the above, where 20% of the tags for each hunt go to those who have the most bonus points.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

Thanks Doug. I had read that before. The kid thought it was a hunt number lottery. So he owes me a gun now.
