CritterGitter Report post Posted August 31, 2005 We got two really nice boars in 27 this weekend. Not much bear activity at all, we just persisted thru that aweful heat and got lucky. Both bears we got were in the pears. Another hunter in camp missed shots at 2 different chip shots at bears and went home empty handed. We'll be out again over the weekend and then I'll be able to log some serious hours in my treestand for some bucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow!!! Congratulations! You guys must have had the hotspot. I was up in 27 over the weekend in the higher elevations, but no luck. There were alot of guys running dogs all over the place which kind of made things more difficult. CamoJeep Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Great job Josh! I was a couple of canyons West of you guys this weekend. Called in plenty of Foxes but no bears. I spoke with the rancher out there and she and her family were very impressed with your whole camp. It's nice to have people like you out there that make a great impression on the landowners. CritterGitter Report post Posted September 1, 2005 I have to agree with Bull Widgeon on that one; nearly every New Mexico plate I saw had a truck load of hounds in it. I even saw USO stickers on some of them..... no doubt taking full advantage of what our quality state has to offer. Glassing is by far the most rewarding method to use.
