Kaffer62 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 I know this isnt a coues. But me and a good friend of mine, went hunting in unit 20A, I spotted a small buck, little 2x2, but he has 2 seperate main beams on each side...Since my friend has a unit 8 bull tag, he had no problem trying to take a small buck, I wanted to wait for something a little bigger,so off we went...we then got in position, I ranged him at 35yards.....the buck was looking directly at us....He let his arrow fly, and struck him directly in the chest. The buck ran off and dropped within about 70 yards..... He sure will be good eating.... I will post pics as soon as possiable.

DEERSLAM Report post Posted September 28, 2005 My uncle shot a blacktail buck quite a few years ago that looks exactly like that. He forked on both antlers right above the pedical.

Shiras Report post Posted September 28, 2005 I echo their sentiments. A deer at all is quite an accomplishment with a bow. Congrats to you guys. -Shiras
TREESTANDMAN Report post Posted September 28, 2005 That is quite interesting. I wonder what kind of a non-typical brute he would have grown up to be had he not been murdered in his infancy. j/k. Great job on taking him w/ your bow. I have yet to stalk and arrow a buck. Those should be some tender steaks.
