COOSEFAN Report post Posted May 27, 2010 "Guess now that we shoot the same bow and drive the same trucks as our Idol... we will have to find other things to give him Crap about like Doughnuts, and Profiling, and Height vs. Girth.... ya know... more personal things!!! " HA HA HA HA!!!!! Height vs. Girth.......I love it! Dude, I bought a dodge only because it was the cheapest thing I could find....which hurts a lot less when I scratch it or smash it into trees or sink it in a lake in Mexico
azcoues33 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 AMERIACAN??? Enough said Tyler! Maybe that's why they abbreviate Precision Shooting Equipment make it easier for you guy's to spell?
WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Well Gino, that hoyt sure is a shooter, but still has a bit more hand shock and noise than the z7 IMO. I still can't decide which one I like best. The customer service and warranty on Hoyt is sure nice, being close and all, but I've had no complaints with my Mathews.

Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted May 28, 2010 Coues and sheep you cant really nock any brand its all wat the shooter wants but its fun haha Well I'd like to agree with you... but not all equipment is created equal.... Shoot the best you can afford and and work hard to be a clean ethical hunter.... regardless what you shoot. However, by shooting only the best gear the market has to offer it is easier for us, than some of you other guys! That is why even though the gear I was shooting was good (very good by most standards) I chose to step up to the plate and invest in better equipment this year.... it is cheap when you consider the gas and time off work, etc. that I spend getting ready for hunting season... why not spend a few more bucks on the BEST gear. Now I just need my Wife to get her butt down to Jeremy's shop and shoot the recently arrived Mathew's Passion so she can decide if she is buying it or the Hoyt Vixen.... either way... If she doesn't draw a Carp tag north of "the Ditch", she will be tagging out on a nice buck in August with a new bow from Chasin' a Dream! I can't wait for August, cuz my wife is sooo excited about that hunt!!

He uses some old basic camo and he is constintly shooting great bucks (every year) and gets a pig and turkey evry year. i have never know my unlce not to fill his tags. Really it all comes down to effort and time and practice. Yes it will make it easier in some ways but, good hunter will be able to kill an animal with any equpiment. You owe it to the animal to be good with your bow or firearm. Witch one you use dont matter as long as your proficent with it.
Coach Report post Posted May 31, 2010 How does the Maxxis 35 compare with the Bowtech Destroyer? I was dead set on a Destroyer until I found out I had a ML bull tag instead of an archer tag this year. I already know my Knight Long Range Hunter is the best ML out there, so I can hold off another year on a new bow -
Extreme Coues Report post Posted May 31, 2010 So jim how does that maxxis 31 shoot ? O ya I guess from the sound of it us Hoyt boys will have to step up our game after all I only have two coues bucks grossing over 125" haha lol.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted May 31, 2010 Well guys, i'm the proud new owner of a Hoyt Maxxis 31! My last 3 bows were all Mathews, a Q2, Legacy, and the DXT. All were great bows and I killed a bunch of critters with em', but all had common problems that i couldn't fix....they were slow and inconsistent! I had a problem with torqueing the riser with each one of my Mathews and I never liked the grip on any of em'. I had to constantly be very aware of my grip on the bow and I was constantly having problems with left or right inconsistencies. I did love how smooth and quiet the Mathews bows are, but smooth and quiet doesn't help accuracy much at all! So with my background as a Mathews shooter and all the good things I was hearing about the new Hoyt bows, I decided to at least test drive one........HOLY COW!!!! This new Maxxis is extremely fast and very surprisingly smooth and quiet! Probably the one main thing that sold me on this new Maxxis is how solid it feels while at full draw, there is no problems with riser torque and that is a night and day difference compared to Mathews! I even compared my Maxxis 31 with the new Mathews Z7 and I'm not lying, I was very surprised how much difference there was between these bows! The Maxxis is seriously more stable at full draw than the Z7 and I noticed very little difference in hand shock or noise between the two. With the stability issues I had with all my Mathews bows, and seeing that the newest Z7 was no different, my choice in buying the Maxxis was a "no brainer"! I also switched from the Spot Hog sight to the Armortech Axcel 7 pin sight with the .010 pins. I stayed with the Quality Archery Design's Ultra Rest which has been a great rest for me, and all the other accesories are from Fuse. I went with the ACC's again which are a strong, hard hitting arrow which has never dissappointed me and I've killed pigs, turkeys, deer, antelope, elk and bear with them without fail! Thanks very much to Jeremy at Chasin' a Dream Outfitters for getting me all set up! It's very appearant you are an expert bow tech and extremely knowledgeable about the equipment and the sport itself. I'd have no problem sending anyone I know to your shop, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon to have you build me a custom bowstring! Thanks again!!! Coach Report post Posted June 1, 2010 I talked to someone at Chasin' A Dream in Payson about some bowfishing gear, and was really impressed with that guy's knowledge and willingness to help, even though he didn't have in stock what I was after. You just get a certain feel from a bowshop that they are there to be helpful and I got that feeling from one call - Made me want to do business with them in the future, FWIW. I can't wait for August, cuz my wife is sooo excited about that hunt!! I have to admit I shoot a hoyt now only because I got a good deal on a used bow. All my bows have been hand me downs that I have bought. The only new bow I ever had was a whitetailhunter from Bear bought back in the 70's. It was slow but I killed alot of critters with it. For you youngsters or older hunters wanting to get into archery I suggest you go shoot a few bows and have the archery shop people work with you in choosing a bow that fits you and shoots good for you. Most of these guys on this post are good hunters but don't let them tell you that hoyt is the best and make you think if you don't buy a hoyt then you don't have the best. Simply not true. It's only their opinion. It's like ford or chevy. Each their own! Just because someone has a buck or two in the books means absolutely nothing in what's the best equiptment.
