Show Low Lake 5/20

Recommended Posts

Today was such a nice day so I had to go fishing. This evening went to Show Low Lake looking for smallies. Ended up catching 8, all in the 1-2 lb range. All were caught on drop shot in 10-15ft of water. Nice to see the smallies really taking hold in this lake. Now if I can get the walleyes to start biting in the next couple weeks life would be great.

Brian,

Nice work!

I'm going to be up there doing a little work on the parking lot at Show Low Lake the second week of June... if you have any more fishing reports between now and then i'd like to hear them... I'll probably throw in a few poles and fish a bit in the mornings or evenings....

No problem. I will probably hit SL again several times between now and then. I will let you know how things go.

SL is loaded with trout too. Looks like they stocked with a bunch of them.

I was planning on going fishing today, but the weather report says 40-50 mph winds. Anyone else sick of wind? Wind BLOWS.

I know the wind always blows here in Snowflake, but this year the 50mph days have been way to regular..............and yes it does BLOW

I feel sorry for you guys down in Snowflake. Not for just the wind but the blowing dust and dirt. I made the mistake one day of going down there visiting a friend on a windy day, left window down in car, came back out and could of grown potatoes on the dash.

I finally got my boat in hopes of some fishing trips close by this year and the wind has discouraged every attempt so far.

I have been on Big Lake when the white caps got to rolling and that is no place for a small boat when that starts happening.

Haven't really spent too much time on the Show Low area lakes so don't know if they are protected enough to knock the wind down.

You have to have a supply of Q-tips here to keep the potatoes from growing in your ears........
