azhuntnut Report post Posted May 16, 2010 I started using Predator camo in 96 on and off until 2005 when I decided to use it full time. I shot my bull at less than 20 yards with 20 of his cows within ten yards of me for almost 20 minutes. You blend in at long distances and up close. They came out with a new fabric a couple years ago that is great for our warm weather hunting. Look at the succes Double Blinds have had using predator camo. They must have picked it over all the others for a good reason. David

Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted May 17, 2010 The only two Camo's I wear are Outfitters Camo on the micotex clothing (at Cabelas) and the Desert Shadow, or occasionally Mountain Shadow from Kings (at Chasing a Dream Outfitters)... Otherwise it is Carhart colors for me!
Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 17, 2010 I would look at fabric (weight/warmth, stretch, wicking/drying) and fit more than camo pattern. For rifle hunting, I think that even solids in tan/olive/greay should work well. I am tending toward the stretchy softshell fabrics for climbers and hikers, or similar fabric in camo from Sitka or Russell APXg2. I like the Cabelas Microtex in Outfitter camo, but it sure likes to pick up seeds .
youngbuck Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Most rifle hunts I wear tan pants, or brush busters. I like predator patterns but the pants don't hold up. I also like ASAT. Cactuflage is one i really like too. I usually end up buying wrangler stuff at VF factory outlet. Its cheap and it holds up. Glassing in rocks, cat claw, and manzanita are hard on clothes. Coach Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Predator fall gray. No better camo on the market. The HD stuff from Realtree is the next best runner up.
Broken Wheels Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Realtree All Purpose HD is really diverse and seems to blend in anywhere. Outfitters camo I have quite a bit of but most of it fades over a season or two unless you go wool type where it's dyed into the fabric. I was also told by other hunters with me from time to time, Outfitters camo practically glows in the darker woods such as in units 1/27. You could wear pink leotards and get close to game as long as the wind is right but you might have a hard time finding anyone to hunt with you in that outfit!
