wetmule Report post Posted August 19, 2005 Just curious if anyone knows if there is still a shooting range out west between SunCity and Wickenburg off Grand Ave. or whatever that road is, East side of WhiteTanks. Haven't been there in years but always liked it better than Blackcanyon, hardly anyone ever there, no Soldiers of Fortune or Rambos spraying casings all over while you're trying to shoot. I was thinking that as fast as housing is going up these days that there might be a good chance that it is a mass of studs and crud and red tile roofs, glad to hear it's still around. KGAINES Report post Posted August 20, 2005 I think you need to be a member to use it, but the person I talked to said it was very cheap to join and/or you could help out at the range to become a member, but that is just what I was told. I will try and stop by if not tomorrow tuesday or wednesday next week, I will be out of town sunday and monday. The 303 runs about a half mile from the turn off. KGAINES Report post Posted August 20, 2005 Ok I went out there and the gates were closed, it said members only, Peoria Rod and Gun Club (623)214-2560, from where I was at I could see the ranga and there was also a two target archery range. It looked as if they were still using it and it looked to be maintained pretty well, I will probably give them a call being as how close it is to me, I had completely forgot about it until you brought it up. Quick directions are south on 163rd ave off of grand and go left at the three way, right on the dirt road and right to the range which you can see from the road, total it is less than a mile from grand ave.
