Illegal Immigration Refrom

Recommended Posts

"The mexican goverment loves illegal immigration" I agree, but so we do here is the U.S. illegall immigration also means lots of $$$ to our goverment.

I hope this mess ends up soon and like somebody here mentioned before and I do agree, we (the U.S) need to enforce the laws we already have in place; for example I know of (and know you know too) several big companies with at least 1000 employees each and 60% to 80% of their workers are illegals! I really dont know the consequences of getting rid of all these workers and hurting the economy and hurting the employers/owners of these companies; but I also agree with Tim, company owners should not be doing the job of the goverment, we already have so much to worry about and things to do that we (company owners) do not have time to investigate if an applicant is here legally or not.

So yes, enforce the rules and lets get rid of...........12,000,000.00 illegals?

when has anyone here ever been stopped by a cop and not asked to provide I.D.? this isn't about looking like a mexican. it's about having to provide identification and if you can't you might get shipped out. in the past, if a cop stopped ya and you had no way of proving you were legal they usually sent you on your way. now they can press the issue. and this bill has nothing to do with closing the border. that's the feds job. this bill is to deal with folks after they get here because the feds won't do their job. if ya have a drivers license, everything is cool. It's illegal to hire illegals. Illegal means illegal, right? If companies hire illegals, they should be held to the standard of the law, just the same as those crossing the border illegally. We can't say enforce the existing laws aimed against crossing the border and ignore the laws against hiring.

If you know of a company with 600 illegals working for them, do America a favor and turn them in. There will be 600 more applicants for those empty jobs tomorrow morning. Unemployment is high, in case you did not know. That company will not have any problem filling those jobs.

No one is asking corporate America to do the job of the Feds, they are being asked to abide by the law of not hiring those they should not be hiring. The Feds job, which they are not doing, is to guard the border. The border patrol and coast guard should be 100% funded for what ever they need before "healthcare for everyone", rebuilding Iraq, extending more food stamps, farm subsidies, etc etc.

Please, don't insult us by telling us you can't tell who is illegal. If they don't have drivers license and insurance and don't speak at least a little English, 99% chance they don't have a valid SS or green card either. But, it sure is easy to just say "I didn't know" when that person is willing to work for cash at below minimum wage. How convenient.

A recent report notes that illegals sent and estimated $45 Billion south in 2006, which was up from an estimated $30 Billion in 2004. That money leaving the economy does not produce secondary jobs here. Using a 2:1 money multiplier, that is $90 billion removed from the American economy. $90B

A Census Bureau study estimates that households headed by illegal aliens used $10 billion more in government services than they paid in taxes in 2002. These figures are only for the federal government; costs at the state and local level are also significant. The study also finds that if illegal aliens were given amnesty, the fiscal deficit at the federal level would grow by nearly $29 billion. $10-29B

A drivers license, does not prove that some one is here legally.

If I said what I said is because I have bieng there. Come on, lets be honest; how many times I have crossed the border and the people ahead of me, white, blond and blue eyes cross and walk like if they were on their house but when I said U.S.A. citizen man they ask me where I was born, who was the first president of the U.S. Who is our governor now, who is the president now and Im told to provide them with a proof that in fact I'm a U.S. citizen and believe me my AZ. Drivers License does not work!! And the same thing have happened while driving on the highway and stopped by border patrol, a drivers license does not work and always my question is why they stopped me in the first place? The last by the way, was in February coming out of King Anvil Ranch on my way to Robles Jc or Three Points.

I want to make clear and please understand, that I'm not against any one here and I dont know how I have insulted (you?) please forgive me if I dont have your same I.Q. but yes,I cant tell just by looking and individual if he/she is here legally or not. Maybe if you provide me (us) with some tips or points we can have a better undestanding how to indentify the difference between a "legal and a illegal'?

I have always liked your posts and respected/admired you as a member and even do I dont know you personally I have nothing against you and believe me it will be my pleasure to shake your hand but it was never in my mind to offend any one in this great forum. Againg, please accept my apology.

History has proved that those companies I said earlier will never fill out those jobs if they get rid of these people (the illegals) getting paid 7.50 or 8 dollars and hour is not fun for lots of people and the companies are not hiring illegals in purpose; these people have fake I.D's, fake S.S. cards/numbers a great example is my wife; for 4 years in a row she reported to several institutions that some one was using her S.S.# in Phoenix, she never find out who she or he was but she provided every one with the company name that was using her S.S.#.

I'm just telling the facts. what I have seen what I have lived. By the way two of my brothers that served in Iraq and another that is still there for the las 3 years now have gone throug the same thing!! come on they are serving this awesome country and fighting for our freedom!! I'm thank full to live here and thank full that my kids were born in this great country too. God bless America and thank you for the opportunity to give you my 2 cents but like Doug said...you dont even want one of my cents and I'm willing to give 2

Check out the information on the Dark side of Illegal immigration costs that I posted in rednecks thread "Jaime"

The cost of building a border fence is insignificant compared to what illegal aliens cost this country.

The feds said that a complete barrier along our entire US/Mexico border would send the wrong signal to Mexico and create tensions and hostility??????????

Build a barrier fence. Electrify it, patrol it, and let the riff raff and smugglers BBQ themselves on it.

The Mexican government loves illegal immigration. It provides their economy with a huge boost of revenue because of all the money being sent back to mexico by the illegal workers here in the U.S. Upwards of 50 billion dollars or more. Maybe they should figure out ways to take care of their own, or share the costs of border security.

And the feds don't want to offend the country of Mexico? Well boo hoo! Have they paid back all the money we have lent them?

severed heads on Pikes every 30 yards or so would save a lot of Revenue over building a barrier :o

What really gets me is, we will vote for more taxes to build a billionaires a place for their teams to play games, but if there were a tax proposal for building a 40ft high, patrolled and guarded wall from San Diego to Texas no one would vote for it.

Desert Bull you are spot on man! I have always wondered how we can value sports more then the real world where children are starving, families are on the street and gangs still intimidate the honest citizens. Imagine if we actually spent billiions of dollars on our own people in the inner cities, helped the small farmer stay afloat, created jobs for the jobless such as fences, block walls or some sort of blockade along our northern and southern borders. Plenty of skilled men not working right now who would love to do it and in doing so also genereate revenue for those border towns as well during the construction through lodging, restaraunts, gas stations, etc. The problem is this all makes too much sense and would take away the need for politicians as they would have no jobs as we wouldn't need them to debate and then vote on anything, we would just frickin do it! Enough said for a Monday but thanks again Desert Bull as it is nice to know others out there think with common sense for the good of all.

Aboslutely correct.

The feds don't want to do anything that is not their idea. If they can't sit around and argue and debate about it for years, then it is no good to them. Job security!

sorry again...

You know it really says something about the state of our great country when our state has to pass a law to make illegal immigration illegal. I'm sick and tired of being called a ignorant racist redneck hick because I believe that our immigration laws should be enforced. Their argument is often we are racial profiling those that don't look like us. Well they are profiling me and the others like me because we don't share their views. How ironic is that? As so many others I have no issues with people from other country's wanting to come to our great nation to make a better life for them self. I do have a issue with those that have no regard for the laws of this country and choose brake those laws and come to this country illegally. I realize it takes a lot of time and effort to file the papers and wait in line to become a legalized citizen. However that is the law and it needs to be fallowed........period! I'm not racist because I feel our laws should be enforced. I don't care what country you are form, or what the color of your skin is. If you are from Ireland and you are here illegally then you need to go.

I don't know what the answers are or the best ways to fix this problem. I have my believes on what would help, and they are the same as many of you have already shared. I do know I am tired of people not respecting our laws and choosing to try to force themselves into our country. What they don't seem to realize is that if they keep coming here and not upholding the laws this country will soon be no better than the one they just left. We have all witnessed the strain that this issue puts on our economy. We have all been forced to watch the impact this issue has on our hospitals, schools, jobs safety and so on. When will enough be enough. How much are we going to have to pay as a nation before our rights are protected.

I have a right to enjoy this country and the land within its borders. I have a right to hunt, fish, camp, sight see etc. as long as I am doing so lawfully. The people that are opposed to this bill are concerned about civil rights being violated. What about our rights as sportsman and American citizens that are being encroached upon because it is not safe to partake in the things that we love and hold dear because it is just not safe any longer to do so. What about good people that live and work along the border that have seen their personal property robbed, vandalized by those that are here illegally. Look no further than the Krentz family and the price they paid, what was taken away from them. Its is to much for my little mind to comprehend that some in this nation are outraged that our law-enforcement may ask some individuals for proof of citizenship if they have a reason to believe they are in this country illegally, but are not concerned in the leased that many of our citizens live in fear everyday while just doing their jobs along the border. If they had to deal with the horrors for a split second that the Krentz family is forced to deal with for the rest of their lives they may have a different outlook on the situation.

Something has to change folks, this problem is getting worse and more violent day by day. When will people realize that this has nothing to do with race and everything to do with equal justice.

I have no problem with the spirit of this law. It will eliminate "sanctuary cities" along with problems with politicians that tell their police chiefs and Sherriffs not to report illegal aliens that they encounter.

I personally think that the law will be challenged in court, and be overturned. Not because it is a bad law, but because the idiot lawmakers have no common sense. They wrote the law saying that they may question anyone they suspect of being illegally in the country as to their citizenship. Since they wrote it that way they have left it to the discretion of the officer to articulate why they believe they are illegal which WILL lead to racial profiling. If they had written the law to say that every contact they have (vehicle stop etc..), they must question EACH occupant as to their citizenship, then there would be no basis for profiling since they have to do it to everyone.

By reading the above comments, it is obvious that many people are not exactly sure what this means for Arizona. Many are complaining that Border Patrol will be increased. There are also complaints about Border Patrol Checkpoints. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Border Patrol. BP is a federal agency not a state agency. As far as the people that complain that all the agents do is drive around, you have obviously never spent any actual time around any. The reason that people complain about seeing them on the roads is that most people are not walking the canyons and mountains where they are working on foot. (Most wear out a sole of a pair of boots every six months) (By the way I will be the fist to criticize the BP)

One last comment. The people that use the term "looks Mexican" need to rethink that statement. This is exactly what the organizations that scream racism are complaining about. I am probably one of the most politically incorrect person around, but this is just an ignorant term. If someone can explain to me what a "Mexican" looks like, please let me know. If you go to Mexico City, many are fair skinned and have red hair. Many of the illegal aliens in the US are Mexican Citizens, however there are also the El Salvadorans, the Guatamalans, the Hondurans, etc..., in addition to that are all of the illgal aliens that don't "look Mexican", such as the Canadians, Germans, French, etc... (and yes there are illegals from those countries)

Many years ago, I had a friend that was from Poland that was here legally. He admitted to me that before he was legal he lived in the US illegally with no problems since most people had the attitude that all the illegal aliens were brown.

Sorry for the rant, but this is what happens when we associate race with the laws that need to be implemented and enforced.

Thats part of the problem. The good folks in Washington are not about equal justice, only social justice.
