I figure if Obama hates it, it's probably something that will actually do this country/state some good. Obama hates anything that is not a brainchild of the Democrats. I don't think that the hunting down south will change much in the near future. Maybe if our borders are patrolled more heavily.
Coues Archer Report post Posted April 24, 2010 This reform may stop illegal immigrants for a little? Whether we like it or not there are always going to be illegal immigrants crossing the border. Illegal immigration is simply something that cant be stopped here in southern arizona. Anyways this new reform is just going to cause alot more border patrols to be patroling more areas destroying our hunting.
HUNTAZ Report post Posted April 24, 2010 all border patrol does is patrol the roads mostly!! The imigrants are the ones out in the field trashing it an running around with weapons an drugs! Thats whats ruining the southern units not BP!
Snapshot Report post Posted April 24, 2010 I don't mean more patrolling by the BP. The Border Patrol simply does not have enough man power to effectively cover the entire border, plus their operations within the core of the state. The only ways to stem the tide of illegal border crossing would be to put up a barrier hundreds of miles long or.........., Use the military. I think someone posted an article before that mentioned a military unit doing training excercises at the border using roving patrols, and the remote control airplanes that have infrared cameras and motion detectors. During that military exercise, it was documented that not one illegal alien made it past the areas being patrolled. And one of the officers involved said it was the best training they could possibily get outside of real combat.
DesertBull Report post Posted April 25, 2010 The best way to stop it is to go after those businesses that hire them and make it WAY more expensive if they get caught. IF no one is hiring illegals, the amount crossing over will dwindle. Use the military / border patrol / local and state police to go after the druggies. What really gets me is, we will vote for more taxes to build a billionaires a place for their teams to play games, but if there were a tax proposal for building a 40ft high, patrolled and guarded wall from San Diego to Texas no one would vote for it. TAM Report post Posted April 25, 2010 The best way to stop it is to go after those businesses that hire them and make it WAY more expensive if they get caught. What really gets me is, we will vote for more taxes to build a billionaires a place for their teams to play games, but if there were a tax proposal for building a 40ft high, patrolled and guarded wall from San Diego to Texas no one would vote for it. Why do people keep saying to go after the businesses? Why should we turn the businesses into the police? It's not my job to sort through all the fake ID's and SS#'s. I've even E-Verified people that have come back clean only to have the police show up at my door telling me they are illegal. It's not my responsibility to do the Fed's job so they can look the other way and get re-elected. Don't get me wrong... this is a huge problem that needs to be stopped, but going after the businesses should be the LAST RESORT after the Fed's have done their part to secure the borders. And for that matter once the Fed's have secured the borders why single out the businesses? The land lords, banks, mortgage companies, utility companies, and anyone else that provides a service should also be required to have proper documentation before conducting business with anyone! It would just sit a lot better with me if the Feds were doing everything possible to stop the problem before they make it my job to do it for them! Don't forget jobs aren't the only thing they come here for... ENTITLEMENTS!!! Welfare, health care, section 8 housing, food stamps, free education with a free bus ride and a free lunch to boot. Good heck, we even give them free water so they don't die in the desert when they jump the border! And the politicians want to make the laws more strict about businesses hiring illegals? I think they should take a long look in the mirror... like I said there is a long list of new rules to put in play before we should be going after the small businesses in America! RoughCut Report post Posted April 25, 2010 I definately think there are some really valid points out there. I think it's odd when people talk like it's a big civil rights issue. I think it's crap when people say they will be pissed if they ever get checked by police if they look mexican. Sometimes I think we as legal americans have to stand up and deal with certain issues to protect our country. If I got pulled over by police because I looked mexican, that's fine. I would just show them my documentation that I was a legal american and go on with my day. Why does everyone have such a hard time with this? I don't care what anybody says, there will be a certain degree of profilling going on from here on out. In the end this will lead to smaller class rooms, shorter wait times in the Emergency Rooms etc. etc.. Why is everyone so shocked when we take a stand to enforce the law???? fatfootdoc Report post Posted April 25, 2010 I dont think this bill has anything to do with increased border patrols, that is a federal issue and Az cant mandate they patrol more. AZ has been trying to get more federal help for years and if falls on deaf ears. This bill however, does allow the police to not have their hands tied. If they pull over a vehicle with multiple people in it , they can check them all for id and green cards if they want and then do something about it if they dont have it. Will it increase racial profiling? good question, but there already is a certain extent of that going on, there has to be. How many of us have driven by a light in Mesa and there is a line of guys looking for work for the day who are surprise, Mexican. Most of us just think look at all those illegals, but some have their green card and are here legally. The thing that boggles my mind is that in CRIMINALIZES ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, why are people so upset, it is called ILLEGAL for a reason, get away from the whole undocumented worker crap, they are illegal pure and simple. I have absolutely no trouble with people who come here legally(my dad is the proud carrier of a green card and has been for almost 40 years!) The press surprise surprise only has really interviewed those who are against it. For crying out loud, groups from California were bussing people in to protest it!! The news was wondering why there were so few that were there who supported it, well that is because they were all WORKING!!!!!!! It was the middle of the day on Friday what were they thinking. I want to know why there so many high school students there!!?? dont they have school or something! And what a surprise that the Obamamoron would be opposed to it. I think AZ did what it needed to and I only hope that CA and NM will do it as well. Oh and dont get me started on Mexico saying it will affect diplomacy with AZ( WHO FLIPPIN CARES) diplomacy with Mexico what exactly is that!! ag
kcw Report post Posted April 25, 2010 All I can say on this is I have never seen a new law that was not abused and twisted by the authorities when it bennefitted them at the moment. I say just enforce the laws that are allready on books. More Laws equals more government control and little more of our freedom as Americans being taken from us. Guest Bandido Report post Posted April 25, 2010 Personally I don't mind if law enforcement checks me. They are doing their job. What really bothers me is driving through a check point and someone in unifrom asks me, "Where are you going and for what purpose?" I didn't serve my country to answer that! I wore my countrys' uniform also. If they need to check my vehicle - do it. I've got nothing to hide or worry about. But ask me where I'm going and why? That really bothers me! Ernesto C Report post Posted April 25, 2010 I was born in San Diego California for Gods grace but because my skin color and becuase of my "mexican" apearence, most of the times when I cross the border they give me a hard time (immigration and customs) in one ocassion one agent asked me where and when I stole my birth certificate (passports were not required yet) and so on and so on. This does not bother me cause they are doing thier jobs, that's what they supposed to do. So what I'm going to do I'm going to make the police and border patrol jobs easier and save them some $$. I already order some shirts that will have my birth certificate printed on the back; so I can prove that I'm an american if I dont happen to have my passport with me since I drive several trucks. Also I'm thinking to put my passport number with spray paint on the rear window of my truck, that way they will not loose time stoping me asking me all type of questions or taking me to jail cause I did not had a proof of my citizenship, filling all types of paper work etc etc. So there you go...hope with this.....I can improve a little bit the economy of my state of my country. GOD BLESS AMERICA. Ernesto C

The FEDS were not enforcing their own laws. Some of this new STATE law is written word for word exactly as the fed law, so that state LE can enforce it. The FEDS love to tell everyone what to do, when and how to do it...but they won't do the one thing the Constitution empowers them to do and that is protect the borders. Snapshot Report post Posted April 25, 2010 Check out the information on the Dark side of Illegal immigration costs that I posted in rednecks thread "Jaime" The cost of building a border fence is insignificant compared to what illegal aliens cost this country. The feds said that a complete barrier along our entire US/Mexico border would send the wrong signal to Mexico and create tensions and hostility?????????? Build a barrier fence. Electrify it, patrol it, and let the riff raff and smugglers BBQ themselves on it. The Mexican government loves illegal immigration. It provides their economy with a huge boost of revenue because of all the money being sent back to mexico by the illegal workers here in the U.S. Upwards of 50 billion dollars or more. Maybe they should figure out ways to take care of their own, or share the costs of border security. And the feds don't want to offend the country of Mexico? Well boo hoo! Have they paid back all the money we have lent them?
