Camera classes

Recommended Posts

Well flat out I wanna take pictures like RR. I dont have an SLR camera, but a very nice point and shoot is on its way to replace my old one. I think im handy with my camera but know theres lots to learn. I know im never gonna be able to take great photos consistantly without more knowledge. RR's pics are incredible and i know id need alot of equipment, experience, knowledge ,and skills I do not pocess to get the shots he gets. I'd like to get the best out of what i have though. examples; Id like to capture the intensity of a rising mood during sunset without the intesity being lost in photo. I wanna understand the F#'s better for the in/out focus background. I dont wanna sit through a class where they explain where the power button is and how a tripod works but would be way over my head if they used alot of technichal terms. Anybody have any suggestions on books or classes. I will probably never have photography as a hobby but want to be a profecient picture taker. 99% of pics I take are outside of animals or landscapes. Im, open to any and all suggestions. I figure the summer is the best time to brush up on my skills. Ive read through lots of stickied tips her and elsewhere and understand the rule of 1/3s and use it. I would simply love to be able to capture the intensity of colors in our landscapes and know how to do so. Im sure a lot of people are in the same boat as me.

I am no expert (you should see the photos I take) but I have heard that the Maricopa Community Colleges offer really good beginner photography classes. Let us know what you end up doing and of course plan on posting your new and improved photos. Good luck.
