azslim Report post Posted May 26, 2010 Hate to disagree with you but I have a hide from a 3 legged lion - and she raised 3 cubs. Came from Wy in 2001, a friend caught her the previous year in a trap is how she lost the right front foot. My cousin and I killed her and one of the cubs, he was about 18 months old as a guess as it was about the same size, and we watched the other 2 run off. Azlongears Report post Posted May 26, 2010 I didn't say it was impossible I just said it was prolly the picture that makes it look like it was missing a foot.

lionhunter Report post Posted May 27, 2010 I once treed a female lion outside of globe that had 3 legs, not feet, legs. She lost or was born without, a leg close to her body (front leg) She was a running fighting sob. I also had a hound with 3 legs that was plenty good on 3 legs for years. Could a lion make it on 3 legs/ missing a foot? Yep. I don't know or care about the lion in the picture, but could they do it,, no problem. Whitey
Azlongears Report post Posted May 28, 2010 A domestic dog with 3 legs that YOU feed everyday is a bit different than a wild animal with 3 legs that has to catch it's own food to survive. Got any pics of that 3 legged lion you treed?

LYONKILL33 Report post Posted June 8, 2010 My brother shot a 3 legged coyote last year, and it had a really short leg all curled up against his body and it was turned upside down.It looked to have been like that for a few years. When he came in you could not tell anything was wrong with him,and he was probably the biggest dog's we got last year.
Broken Wheels Report post Posted June 8, 2010 Anything "3 legged" is possible as I know for a fact a few of my techs have lost 3 legged races when dealing with this old broken wheels hunter!

Coach Report post Posted October 20, 2010 That picture sure looks like the foot is missing, or at least missing digits, but who knows for sure without seeing it up close. The lion does look a bit skinny, so maybe it does have a handicap. I'm sure he can get on more deer with 3 feet than I can with 2 Cool picture regardless, and man long-ears, you've got more pix of lions in one post than I've seen in a lifetime of tromping around in the desert/forest. Super cool thread for sure.
