grizzly Report post Posted April 18, 2010 I know I have seen a post on this somewhere, about a ranch near Cordes Junction or Prescott that offers different hunts. Cant find the info when I need it. Anyone have a link to a website or any info?

ruthunter Report post Posted April 19, 2010 I went up there with 2 buddies and we all shot buffalo's with our bows. Its not really a hunt its more of a harvest the animals are in a high fence area that is like a mile long by a half mile wide and quite an elevation change within the fenced area. There is a waterhole and most of the vegetation is dead from all the stag, hogs and bufffalo roaming in there. The staggs are really cool to look at and they seemed like they could be challenging with a bow. There seemed to be smart hogs that would run once they saw you and there seemed to be those that you could get into bow range with ease. The buffalo were fairly easy to get into bow range but we noticed once we shot the first one the tougher it was to get in bow range for the other two. The guy that runs it will tell you not to wear camo because the animals will run when they see camo. The buffalo ranged from 1200-1600lbs and i have to say the meat is awesome. He also has a walk in cooler on site and he will skin and gut your animal for a fee or you can do it yourself. He has a front in loader he uses for loading the buffalo. The stagg fee is based on the gross score of the animal and theres a flat rate for hogs until you get 500lbs or more.. the buffalo is based on weight. stanley Report post Posted April 22, 2010 Here's a price list. Depending what they mean by escort, that could be a great deal http://theezranch.webs.com/harvest.htm LOL on the escort comment!!!! Thanks for the run-down on your experience ruthunter!! I've never had buffalo meat, but I've heard that it is delicious!! This is an interesting and obiously potentially a 'hot' topic! I don't think that I would ever do a 'high fence' hunt, but I can't say for sure. At least this place calls it what it is, and makes no bones about it. If someone wants to get some buffalo or othe exotic meat and this is the way they want to, then No shame there, IMO!! Go get it!! S.

cactusjack Report post Posted April 23, 2010 I'd say it a little more sporting than going to Basha's or Fry's.
